It is well known that heroes from “Edda” wished to die with a harpby their side. A harp, or another musical instrument, connects earth with heaven. Music always leads to another world, to eternity.
The late Danijela was a pianist and cymbalist. Extraordinary artist, teacher – Master of music! Her instruments, in her God-blessed hands, produced that wonderful tension between corporeal movements which bring a vibrant sound – resonance, in rhythmical, pulsing polyphony, and later harmonized melody. These vibrations, this resonance, the quivering of dawns, the first light of dawn from Tabor, lead her to the eternal promise, the Eternal Day. They were the source of her daily, but also heavenly, eternal joy, but also her lament, prayers, and now – this solemn service. They were both for healing and for repentance, but also for unwavering hope; the eternal path of faith in God and her friend Christoph Rupp, a Swiss, who could have only been sent to her by Christ. Now, all the vibrations of her cymbals have forever been absorbed into the eternal future, which is forever pulsating, gently touching. The departed artist did not need an outflow of beautiful, declamatory words to accept and bearthe difficult and cruel suffering and trial; rather she quietly and in a deeply Christian way endured, living, in fact, as the righteous Job did. She knew some of the answers, thanks to music, her art. What is for her the meaning of life, death, suffering and joy? Enlightened by Job, the late Danijela, whose name signifies God’s Judgment, was led by her endurance and strength of character, being reliable, pleasant and righteous, and keeping her sense of personal dignity until the last thread of her life. Her love would always bring to life, resurrect, her poise in front of the Creator, but also a rich feeling for Christ, for Beauty, as well as the effort to finish and perfect everything. Enlightened by the righteous Job as a Guardian Angel, she knows that a life in virtue is always full of joy. Life in virtue is therefore always a reward.
Danijela is composed, fulfilled as an artistic person and as a person justified before God, when overwhelmed with hardship and difficult illness, including the compromised dignity which illness always brings. She lamented and wept. Empty worded agnostics would now say that there is not hope, instead of empathizing and quietly loving her. Agnostics think that by emphasizing the self-deception that God is unjust and that her earthly joy is a punishment for sin, and that this deception, an illusion, will explain and bring light…An illusion will never bring light! Thank the Lord that our sister Danijela distanced herself from such “intellectual” excesses, and reached out to God, so bravely and so amiably. Our late sister was a true believer, but unfortunately she did not have a spiritual father, she was self-taught in her faith. Thanks to her music, she looked towards the eternal future with unbreakable faith. As if bathed by light from mount Tabor, she declares, just like the righteous Job: “Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were printed in a book! That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!” – this would mean that she believes, that with her life she testifies, a thoughtful, but eternally rewarding and realtestimony. Similar to Job, she does not understand, but she believes that God is alive, that he is Beauty and a victor over death, and that he will justly reward her as his devoted servant. Our dear Danijela knows that she has now fallen into illness and woe, but also that she will see God from her body with her soul. Looking at God is in fact Heaven. This service for Danijela is, as her life was, Paschal; a handful of sung songs about the resurrection from the dead. Without the joy of resurrection, this act isjust spreading of ashes from a personal crematory. However, for our sister to whom we are boding farewell, this act of her solemn service is a refuge to the eternal future. For her, a long suffering, honest woman, the Eshaton strongly comforts in her final hope in God:“Whom (God) I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another.” These are words spoken only by every Christian, but these words are also spoken by our sister who has left us for the grave. Yet, we know, that “God is not the God of the dead, but of the living” (Matthew 22:32). Therefore, vibrating melody of Heaven, God save your soul and Christ is Risen!
